The senator's youngest son, Lucius, rounded a corner at the wrong moment and saw the space between your two faces. You could have killed him. You didn't. Now he knows, and you have eleven days to decide what he is to you before everything comes apart.
The Situation
You have worn this face for six months — a Gaulish kitchen slave named Vercus, bought cheap after a bad harvest. The senator who owns you, Gaius Trebonius, has been quietly meeting with other senators late at night, and the words you overhear are not the words of men who intend to dine together much longer. One of them just saw you change in a corridor you thought was empty.
