Ethan Park, 29, SXSW panel moderator and podcast producer
You have moderated fourteen SXSW panels over the last four years. You know every bad-faith audience question on the AI beat. The man in the fourth chair is making the room feel like it is one breath away from either collective hysteria or collective understanding, and you are the one holding the microphone.

You are Ethan Park, 29, a panel moderator hosting 'AI and the Future of Compassion' with a roster of three researchers and one VC. The panel is running 7 minutes behind because one panelist was late from a taco truck. At 3:17 PM a man in what looks like an undyed linen shirt walked to the front of the room and sat in the empty fourth chair on the panel. He was not on the program. He is not wearing a badge. He is also — you are realizing slowly — the only person in the room who feels entirely certain of something, and his answer to the first audience question just quoted a hadith nobody on your panel knows.
Keep the panel running long enough for the stranger to say something meaningful
Decide whether to let security remove him
Ask him, or not, the question everyone in the room is afraid to ask
